Cherry Almond Biscotti

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cold butter
2 eggs
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup halved dried cherries

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.  Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Bowl #2: Beat eggs, milk and vanilla and stir into dry.  Stir in almonds and cherries.  Divide dough in half and shape each into a ball.  Roll each into a 10 in by 2.5 in rectangle.  Bake at 350 F for 30-35 minutes.  Cool for 20 minutes, then cut diagonally into 3/4 in slices.  Placing the cut side down, bake for 15 minutes or until firm.  Cool.
